Arun K. Garg, DMD – Is a nationally recognized dental lecturer and clinician, who along with renowned educator and researcher Dr. Robert E. Marx, discovered the benefits of PRP and pioneered PRP-related treatment techniques and research. Dr. Garg served as a full-time professor of surgery in the division of oral and maxillofacial surgery and as director of residency training at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine where he was frequently awarded faculty member of the year by his residents. Dr. Garg is considered the world’s preeminent authority on bone biology, bone harvesting and bone grafting for dental implant surgery and has written and published nine books and over 150 scientific articles. Dr. Garg earned his engineering and dental degrees from the University of Florida and completed his residency training at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Robert E. Marx received his DDS degree from Northwestern University in 1971. In 1977, he earned a Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he is presently a professor of surgery and Chief of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Division. Dr. Marx spent 13 years as an active duty officer in the United States Air Force, and later served in Operation Desert Storm. A noted researcher and lecturer, he is credited with pioneering platelet-rich plasma growth factors and the application of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein, as well as developing the accepted protocol of hyperbaric oxygen to enhance healing in radiated tissue. Dr. Marx’s professional awards include the W. Harry Archer Award, the William J. Gies Award, the Paul Bert Award, and the Donald B. Osbon Award. In addition to numerous textbooks and academic publications, he is also the author of the novel Deadly Prescription.
Renato Rossi, DMD, PhD – Currently works at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, University of Sāo Caetano - USCS and Universidade Ibirapuera. Renato does research in Pathology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Implantology.
Dr. Maria del Pilar Rios Calvo graduated from Venezuela Central University in 1990. Specializing in Prosthodontics at Bosto0n University in 1993, receiving later a Master’s Degree at Boston University in 1994 and a Ph.D. from Santa Maria University in 2017,Venezuela.
In addition to her private practice in Venezuela, she maintains active membership in several scientific societies and academies. Dr. Rios is the current Chairwoman of the Master of Science in Dental Implants Program and an associate professor at Santa Maria University. She serves as full-time faculty at The Implant Foundation of Dr. Arun Garg in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is also a featured lecturer for the continuing education organization, Implants Seminars, in the United States. Dr. Rios proudly is the President of the International Dental Implant Association, IDIA’s, Venezuelan chapter – an organization in which she holds Diplomat status.
Her previous roles include Dean and Health Vice Chancellor Deputy at Santa Maria University in Venezuela, President of the Venezuelan Prosthetic Society, Secretary of the Venezuelan Occlusal Society, and Editor Reviewer of the United States Journal of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Pilar has authored several articles published in scientific journals based on her research and practice of dentistry. Many of her past projects and research have been recognized and awarded. One of her greatest passions is her work as an international speaker and educator.

She is a registered nurse offering over 30 years experience on healthcare and patient com- munication, and is recognized for her leadership and organizational skills. Cathie is a graduate of the University of Miami with a bachelors of Science in Nursing. For the past 16 years, she has been involved in researching and in the clinical uses of PRP.
Ruth Delli Carpini, DDS – Is a 2003 graduate with honors from the University of Pavia School of Dentistry. Gifted with a versatile sense of innate curiousity, her diverse capabilities have drawn her to investigate and be instructed in all disciplines of dentistry, including specialist level endodontics-prosthetics, restorative orthodontics, and surgergial-facial esthetics. A self-described “learner at heart,” Dr. Carpini is a dentist who is always hungry to learn more while striving to apply what she’s learned in her daily practice.
